Competition Rules

  1. Only students in tertiary education may enter the competition. Students must be over 18 years of age and eligible to work in the UK.
  2. Only one entry is allowed per person. If you submit multiple entries, only the one with the most recent date stamp according to our system will be considered. Previous winners are not allowed to enter.
  3. Employees and their families of Haymarket Media Group, Courland Automotive Practice, The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’, and the supporting partner organisations, or any of their affiliates are not eligible to enter.
  4. No purchase of any sort is necessary.
  5. All final entries must have been received by midnight, 28 August 2011.
  6. Work placements at the partner organisations will only be arranged for the winning entrant.
  7. The winning entrant is entitled to a cash prize which they will receive upon completion of all work placements.
  8. All entrants must be available for work experience (one month at each partner organisation) after the winner’s announcement - to be agreed with each of the defined organisations.
  9. The 12 Long-listed candidates will be contacted no later than 12 September 2011.
  10. Entrants are responsible for covering their own travel costs and/or accommodation, to and from assessment day/awards ceremony.
  11. Judges appointed by the promoter will make the final decision on the six shortlisted candidates no later than 17 October 2011, on the three finalists no later than 1 November 2011 and on the sole winner no later than 22 November 2011.
  12. Entrants must ensure that they are available between the 4th and the 6th October (inclusive), to take part in a day-long interview in London as well as for the judging day on 1 November 2011 in Middlesex, and the Award Presentation on 22 November 2011 in London.
  13. The Judges' decision is final; no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any entry from the process if they deem it incomplete, illegible or as having been submitted by an ineligible person.
  15. Proof of entry is not proof of receipt.
  16. By entering this competition, the winner and all entrants consent to any publicity subsequently generated.
  17. The competition ends with the announcement of the winner on 22 November 2011.
  18. The winner must be available for work experience after the competition end as defined under 8) above.
